For six months last year, I took classes to acquire more knowledge in my field and give me an advantage in my job search. They were awesome and I learned a ton, but I don't really have much tangible to show for my time and effort. We did a couple of presentations and a group project, but I didn't do too much written work.
As a writer, it was hard for me to finish the program - even with the fancy certificate of completion they awarded - and not have any writing samples to show for it.
But this month I'm taking a web design class. And I've already made some pretty things.
Turns out, my Photoshop skills are way better than I thought they were. And brushes are tons of fun to
play work with. We start learning to code next week. I cannot wait!
Okay, that is very cute and I am very excited for you! Learning a new skill or honing an underutilized one is a great way to challenge yourself!
ReplyDeleteSomeday I'd like to learn more in PS besides how to make text balloons, ha!
Good work!
Thanks! I had fun with all the color options. Can you teach me how to make text balloons? That's a skill they're probably not teaching in class.
